Corduroy, Studs, and Everything Nice

I haven't made one of these outfit posts in a while so here's another! Corduroy seems to be making a comeback, I've been seeing it all over and I thought this pair of corduroy pants from Lulu's ($66) give off such a cool laid back vibe. The same thing can be said for this hoodie from Brandy Melville USA ($33). By looking at this blog, you can probably tell I love everything studded and these combat boots from Free People ($468) are obviously no exception. This adorable floral clutch from Forever 21 ($21.80) adds the perfect pop of color and a girly finishing touch.

I just got this awesome Free People dress from Lord and Taylor yesterday! I'm kind of in love with it.
This is picture shows the color much better than in mine. On the Free People website this dress is $128 however I got it on sale at Lord and Taylor for a little less than $50 because it was on sale and coupons are great haha.

I'll try and post again this weekend, but until then bye for now. :)

chambray button up: H&M
floral skinny jeans: Forever 21

Out in the Woods

School has just started back up again and I got back from vacation a week before it started so I've been busy lately.

This was back in May or June (I don't really remember) in the woods near my house. There's this tree back there that has steps nailed into it so you can climb up it and this tire swing attached although it's breaking, it's pretty nice.

sweater: Target
tank: H&M
belt: Charlotte Russe
skirt: PacSun
shoes: Pastry from Underground Station by Journey's

Making a statement is easy with tribal print and exaggerated sleeves! I love this dress because of its fun pattern and contrasting colors. I wore this to co-host our school talent/variety show back in June.

I adore colored skinny jeans, they're probably my favorite trend ever. This colorful top also has a cool lattice pattern on top which was something new to me. I'm pretty sure these pictures were taken back in June.

headband: Capelli NY
top: Macy's
bracelets: Claire's
belt: Charlotte Russe

Seasons Changing

At the time, winter was changing into spring and temperatures would be a little breezy, but could be nice. That's why I wore this sweater with these shorts, it matches pretty well too. :)

headband: Capelli NY
sweater: Macy's
shorts: T.J. Maxx
shoes: Vans from Journey's

Instagram pictures!

I decided that I needed more pictures of myself on here so I decided to try and connect my Instagram to this blog, but I couldn't so I'll be uploading them whenever I get a chance. Some of these pictures are from a couple of months ago, but I like the oufits so yeah. :)

shirt: Macy's
shorts: also Macy's
shoes: Vans from Journey's
necklace: don't remember

That necklace is actually much shorter than it appears in the picture, so to make it longer I attached a bracelet.

Blue and Beyond

Stars are obviously an upcoming trend and the high low skirt is a trend right now and this skirt from Lulu's ($44) incorporates both of those. For a nice pop of color, I chose this blue tank from Brandy Melville USA ($21). To give it a kick, I paired them with these boots from Nasty Gal ($298) and knee high socks from Free People ($20) which have specks of several colors. Since the skirt has a starry print, it seemed right to accessorize with a star necklace from Tilly's ($6.99). Finally, the outfit is topped off with this stack of bangles from Tilly's ($12.99) for a little arm candy.

Run Down and Rugged

This pullover from Forever21 ($19.80) is girly, but has a perfect rough or edgy-ness to it. I paired it with these shorts from Urban OG ($17.70) because they provide an unexpected pop of royal blue. The sweatshirt is perfect with this fringe purse from Brandy Melville USA ($30), they both have a laid back vibe to them. There's a gorgeous light blue on the shirt and these Lita platform boots from Nasty Gal ($113.40) are the exact same color and dress up this casual ensemble.

Simply Sweet

Normally, I'm not a fan of dresses with v-necks, but this embroidered blue dress from Forever21 ($24.80) definitely caught my eye. There's something so unique about the mixed thread hair wraps from Free People ($14) that makes a braid look just that much cooler. In fact, I'll probably attempt to make my own sometime with some pieces of fabric and string for friendship bracelets haha. I decided to make the dress and hair wrap the center of attention, the purse and heels should be neutral. So to complete the outfit, I chose this cute bag from Urban OG ($47.30) and espadrille wedge sandals from Lulu's ($39).

Lovely Rocker

This outfit which I've named Lovely Rocker features this cute, lived in looking tank from Brandy Melville USA ($14). Over it is this awesome electric emerald jacket from Forever 21 ($18.90). No rocker look is complete without some ripped jeans, so I paired it with these acid wash jeans from UrbanOG ($29.30). To finish the outfit are these spiked heels from Lulu's ($46) which I'm absolutely in love with.

Sweet and Studded

I'm obsessed with this lace top from Nasty Gal ($38) and just knew it would look great with this adorable floral dress from Brandy Melville ($29). Sandals are the perfect to complete this summery ensemble and these mint green studded sandals from Lulu's ($57) highlight the bits of green in the dress. To finish off the outfit, I added this sweet studded bracelet from Forever 21 ($3.99)

I've been so busy with camp that I haven't been able to post recently! I'll be queuing a post for tomorrow :)

Dreaming of Patterns

It's always fun to experiment and mix many different patterns together, so here's an outfit I called Dreaming of Patterns. For the bottoms, I chose these legging pants from Brandy Melville USA ($35).  I decided to use this dress from Nasty Gal ($158) as a top so the skirt should peek out from under this top from Zumiez ($39.99). Since the top has some pretty pinks, purples, and blues, these sneakers from Vans ($55) seemed like a great match.

Floral Princess

One great trend that I absolutely adore is the high-low skirt. This dress from NastyGal ($78) uses that trend in this strapless number which is a gorgeous light purple. This floral kimono also from NastyGal ($58) has that nice purple as well as other pastel tones in it. On top of both of those would be this belt from Topshop ($32), cinching it at the waist. Since the high-low skirt can emphasize shoes, I decided to pair the dress with these tall gladiator sandals from Free People ($158). To add a little shine to the outfit, I picked out these drop earrings from Forever 21 ($5.80).

American Edge

Happy 4th of July! In honor of this American holiday, I created this outfit called American Edge. The centerpiece of this outfit is this top from Brandy Melville USA ($60) because of its American flag detail on the skull. For bottoms, I chose these Gingham print skinnies from Forever 21 ($19.80) which would be topped off with this belt from Hot Topic ($19.50). To kick up this outfit's edginess, I added these booties from Lulu's ($102). When watching fireworks, a girl always needs a place to keep her stuff and this bag from Tilly's ($19.99) was just perfect! I love this set of rings from Topshop ($30) because it's so awesome and you can mix and match the rings however you want.

It's me!

I decided I should probably upload some pictures of my outfits so here's my first one! It's from yesterday in my backyard and around my town haha.

Here I'm wearing:
  • fedora- Forever 21
  • shirt (Love is a very splendid thing)- Forever21
  • shorts- Aeropostale
  • shoes- Vans from Journey's

Bubbly and Blue

Crotchet, chiffon and peplum are all fun, current trends and this top from Love Culture ($21.90) pulls all of them together. This adorable body con skirt from Forever 21 ($9.80) has cute pops of yellow and pink flowers over navy horizontal lines. I decided to highlight the pink by pairing it with this hot pink bag from ModCloth ($34.99) which is topped off with a bow for a nice feminine touch. I decided to continue with the pink for the shoes and picked these hot pink platform sandals from Lulu's ($34).

Magenta Magic

I saw this dress from Free People ($88) and absolutely loved it so here's Magenta Magic. Since the dress is layered and flows nicely, overdoing accessories or adding a lot of other items would take away from the dress, so I've made it minimalistic. I found this simple necklace from Forever 21 ($6.80), it has multiple chains and beads for a cute touch. I paired it with these natural wedges from Lulu's ($26). This outfit is fairly simple but it's gorgeous with minimal accessories.

Summer 'n Shine

Peplum is definitely a fun new trend and the Peter Pan collar is also another current trend. This floral shirt from Topshop ($64) is great at pulling those two awesome trends together. These silver sequined shorts from Threadsence ($79) were just too unique and cool to pass up. Lastly wedge sneakers are also an upcoming trend and these ones from Nasty Gal ($198) tie into the orange and blues in the shirt.

Punk Meets Boho

I thought it would be really fun to mix punk and boho style together because they have some similar elements so here is Punk Meets Boho! It's kind of quirky and unexpected which is exactly what I was going for. These burgundy shortalls from Forever 21 ($22.80) can give off a country vibe, but paired with this studded crop top sweater from Hot Topic ($39.50) it becomes edgy. To complete its edgy-ness, I added these combat boots from Underground by Journey's ($49.99). Giving it a more boho vibe, I would scrunch these socks from Target ($9) down. This scarf from Anthropologie ($198) is also adorable. This beanie from Zumiez ($27.95) has an unexpected pop of color to complete the outfit.

Beaded and Bohemian

Bohemian or boho style is great because it connects with earthy, nature centered details and color schemes. Anything floral, beaded, or what can be considered hippie-ish can be intertwined into a bohemian wardrobe. This dress from Free People ($350) is gorgeous and is definitely a boho dress and it looks timeless. It may be a bit of a splurge, but I think it would be totally worth it. To add to its boho vibe, is this adorable floral crown from Nasty Gal ($75). Since beads are a must, I chose this beaded bracelet from Karmaloop ($16.95). Completing the look are these leather sandals from Lulu's ($39).

Sunny Adventure

Button up tops are really popular right now and I just love this blazing top from Urban OG ($30.50). It has so many great colors in it like the unexpected blue which is why I chose this backpack which can become a shoulder bag from Brandy Melville USA ($40). These shorts from Forever 21 ($13.50) came in many colors, but I decided to emphasize the pink by selecting these hot pink ones. To tie everything together, I selected these super creative platforms from Nasty Gal ($175). The straps are all colors found in the top!

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Soft Summer

I named this outfit Soft Summer because it has light colors and delicate patterns and materials. This soft knit sweater is from Brandy Melville USA ($59). I paired it with these mint colored skinny jeans from Urban OG ($36.90) to add a nice color contrast. I picked this colorful cork purse from Threadsence ($48) because it was so unique and I just love it! For shoes, I went with these lace booties from Lulu's ($51) because it contributes to the outfit's delicateness.

Pastel Party

Pastels are just so much fun! This is definitely the kind of outfit I'd wear on a fun summer adventure. I found this dress from ModCloth ($68) and knew I just had to create an outfit for it. It's so bright and vibrant like a rainbow. Every accessory is one of the colors from the dress like this super cute pink hat from UrbanOG ($20.70). On a sunny summer day, sunglasses are a must, so I picked out these green rimmed sunglasses ($13) and baby blue jacket both from Lulu's ($67).   To highlight the yellow in the dress, I paired it with the accurately named "Highlighter Belt" from Threadsence ($14). For shoes, I decided to go with these white sandals from Free People ($89).

Pink is Punk

There are so many different kinds of ways to classify how someone dresses, and one of them is punk or edgy. I love it because it means studs, t-shirts, and ripped jeans. To show my love of edgier outfits, I created Pink is Punk. I called it this because of the shirt I picked out from Tilly's ($7.97) that reads 'Pink is Punk'. The proceeds from the shirt actually go to education and awareness programs for breast cancer. I paired it with these acid wash ripped jeans from Urban OG ($27.90) which are definitely edgy. With these super cute floral wedges from Threadsence ($39.50), this outfit  receives a girly touch, but maintains its toughness. To add a pop of pink, I chose this unique pink jelly bag from Nasty Gal ($48).

Bold, Bright, and Blue

I like this kind of outfit because there's no lack of color, it's bold, bright, and definitely makes a statement. The outfit was based around this top which I love from Threadsence ($32), it has a bright yellow background color and a fun print. There are some blue hues in the pattern so I paired it with this lace jacket from Lulu's ($50) because I absolutely adore this trend. I also love these shorts from Forever 21 ($19.80), they have just the right amount of destruction. These platforms from Free People ($150) are super colorful and also tie in with each piece.

Kickback Casual

Here's to a  fun casual Saturday with friends! I love every single item in this outfit and put together it'll look awesome. This tank from H&M ($5.95) is colorful and upbeat with cute little pictures that just scream summer. On a day that could be a little chilly, you could throw on this sweet button down top from Brandy Melville ($32). Since the background of the tank is dark and the top is gray, I paired them with these adorable shorts with lace back pockets from Seek Vintage ($30). Finally, these edgy purple Converse kicks from Free People ($128) were too great to pass up.

Friday, June 22, 2012

Silver and Jewels

Since in June there's a lot of dances, graduations, and parties, I figured I would make a super dressy outfit for today. I absolutely adore this dress from Topshop ($250). It's completely jeweled on top with a tulle bottom and an open back, it's just lovely. I paired it with some more silver, like these awesome studded and glitter shoes from UrbanOG ($39.90) and silver headband from ModCloth ($7.99). Finally, so it won't be overboard with silver, I added some contrast by pairing it with this blue envelope clutch from Forever 21 ($19.80).

Mesmerizing in Mint

Here's the first outfit I've created called Mesmerizing in Mint. I love this mint sweater from Lulu's ($49). It's cute, asymmetrical, and can be perfect for a breezy day on the beach. I also love these shorts which are also from Lulu's ($35). It has a fun colorful floral print with touches of mint for the leaves. There are also small bits of coral in some of the flowers which is why I chose these wedges from Topshop ($100). To tie the outfit all together, I added this necklace from ModCloth as a statement piece ($21.99).

Welcome to my fashion blog!

Hi! I'm Sarita and this is my fashion blog. I will try and post an outfit I put together on a daily basis as well as some pictures of my own outfits.
